As a Christian Counseling Agency, we believe that true and complete healing comes from healing that only Christ can bring. While Christ brings healing, we believe that we have been called to be a vessel in emotional, behavioral, and relational healing with our education and experiences as licensed Therapists. Our Agency verse is “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” Psalms 147:3. This verse means that Jesus has promised healing of those who are having a tough time in life and that healing is available to all who pursue Him and seek healing. Our agency motto is “We give grace because we need grace”. As humans who have gone through life’s struggles, failures, and successes, we know that through our failures in life, we need forgiveness. Knowing we have received forgiveness, we also know that forgiveness and grace is needed to provide to those we encounter. If you are struggling with the complications of life, we would be honored to walk you through this difficult time and to give you tools for healthy living while at the same time recognizing the difficulty of change.
If you have some aspects of your life that needs healing, please contact us so we can join you in a journey of healing.
Debby D. Ponton, LSCSW, LCAC
Hey there! I’m Debby Ponton, Executive Director of Mended Hearts Counseling and I want to welcome you to our website and would love a chance to talk!
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) in the great state of Kansas. My specialties include providing individual therapy with adults dealing with depression, bipolar, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, and dissociative disorders. I also have experience with helping couples learn how to manage conflict so they can have an opportunity for a healthier relationship.
I have my undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. I have experience in working with Substance Abuse and Trauma during my work at the Veteran’s Administration and in Community Mental Health. Having served in the military for 27 years, I have worked with many service members and their friends and loved ones to help them deal with the difficulties military life can bring.
As a committed Christ follower, I also bring faith into practice and everyday life. As a Clinical Social Worker, I understand that faith can be a big part of one’s life and that there are those who don’t have a faith practice. No matter your personal beliefs, we can discuss your situations from a biblical perspective or a non-faith perspective.
